Today's Letters

This is very interesting to read. A husband and wife write a letter to each other every day.

What a day. What a day.

Today was a very interesting day for me on dry land.... I would not know about my other half and how His day went in the middle of the VAST GOM (his "technical" term for his work place: Gulf of Mexico) seeing how our only communication lately has been one sided---him leaving me a voice mail because I am in with patients and can not answer my phone :( Sad day...

Insight into events that occurred during my day: [[Will number them in order of occurrence]]

1.) ANTS ANTS ANTS EVERYWHERE -- So in all my new coupon frenzy I received a free sample of washing powders in which a LOVELY family of ants found very appetizing...So in my living room leading all the way up to where we keep our mail on the bar was a trail of ferocious ants. Once again if you know me you know I am allergic and hate them with a passion. Well, due to me not having any ant killer in my back pocket or for that matter any where in my house I used my small brain and found the Glade air freshener and well, I exterminated them ants (insert my country voice) and when I got home a little bit ago POOF they have packed up their bags and headed elsewhere.

2.) After today's clinicals I think I have figured out where babies come from...maybe...about 25 GYN exams done/observed today.

3.) While driving today, a car pulled out in front of me and for some reason the first thought that came into my mind was ---Are they an Alabama fan? and actually they were due to their large Alabama A on their spare tire cover....See the only reason that this for the first time popped into my head is because my significant other's first words out his mouth every time we see a crazy driver is: Are they an Alabama fan? My thoughts on this subject 1. Being an Alabama fan has nothing to do with how people drive 2. Did I really let that non logical, crazy thought run through my mind?

4.) This posting being on the front page of your local newspaper can cause a frenzy among parents and for all the appropriate reasons because if I had a child I would be worked up as well:

Two swimmers test positive for E. coli: "Two children who visited the Opelika Sportsplex and Aquatics Center’s Splash Park between June 12 and June 20 have tested positive for E. coli infection, according to a Thursday release from the Alabama Department of Public Health."

5.)Now that my mother and sister have arrived it is time for some fun! About to watch the movie I just bought- Just Go With It.

Quote of the day:

"Nobody can make you feel inferior without your consent." -Eleanor Roosevelt (One of my favorite ladies of all history)

P.s.
If you can not tell from this post and my prior posts grammar/English was not my first, second, third, fourth, fifth, or even sixth best subject in school, but I am hoping the more writing I do the more I will start to improve.

Love & kisses,
Sky

Not tooooo Great at updating this thing, but {{promise}} to do better

So....where to begin??? It is hard to capture our lives when we are so dang busy! I am busy with pediatric and women's health clinicals and Bricken is busy sweating to death on the rig or attending classes to help us pay my school bill. I do not give him enough credit for being an awesome husband and helping/giving up a lot to make my dreams become reality. He is trying to move up and become and Able Body Seaman, but some guys are wanting him train to be an electrician (boy, Dana Moore would love that!) I finally made the switch to a "day-shift" nurse! Yay! I was super nervous and still get antsy, but Bricken wanted me to go to days so bad. Who could ignore his cute begging? Not me! He actually made the switch to day shift yesterday too for the last two weeks of this hitch. We plan on spending all the time we can together when he gets home in July, because the last time he was home I was tooooo busy. Doing pediatric clinicals has really done two things for me 1. Want to specialize in possibly pediatrics?? 2. Have baby fever (#2 only makes Bricken laugh hysterically!) I know having a child is a gift from God and will happen on his time, but I know that neither I nor Bricken are ready for that stage. (For all of you who got tremendously nervous and needed an anti-anxiety pill after reading that, don't worry we started the five year plan last year so we have four more years to go!)

As you can see I put wayyy to many punctuation marks, but I never want any body to read my post and think for one second that I am anything but over the top ecstatic about everything that is going on in mine or in Bricken's life.

I am going to start putting up recipes--due to the extreme happiness that cooking brings me and my love to share the things I cook and actually taste good :)

Butterfiinger Cake

1.) Cook a devil's food cake (out of the box)
2.) Immediately after taking it out of the oven punch holes all in the cake
3.) Pour a whole container of caramel and a whole container of sweetened and condensed milk over the entire cake so that all the wholes are soaked
4.) Spread a large can of cool whip over the top
5.) Finely crumble up 2 butterfinger bars and spread over the top of cool whip
6.) Refrigerate & Your DONE

If any of you really know me you know I LOVE LOVE Quotes! So since I am going to get better at posting I am going to try to put a quote at the end of every post and try to put one that I think was the best fit for my day.

Quote of the day:
"The best years of your life are the one's in which you decide your problems are your own. You don't blame them on your mother, the ecology, or the President. You realize that you control your destiny." - Robert Ellis

Home Away from Home

A pic of one of the Great Pyrimds Bricken Shot
Bricken finally made it to THE DISCOVER AMERICAS at 0700 this a.m. which is 3:00 pm "Egypt-ian" time. He is worn out! Ahhh 27 days till he is back in the U.S.A.! He has taken many neat pictures and I will try to get them posted. I am a week deep in school and already fill like I am drowning. You know you have a nerd on your hands when you order five school books and can NOT wait their arrival. I am taking Research Methodology, Advanced Health Assessment, Health Assessment Precept, Foundations of Advanced Practice. Today is also a great day due to the release of all the JFk artifacts online. (I am very very obsessed with JFK and anything to do with his era) Here is the website if you haven't already checked it out: http://www.jfklibrary.org/. Ok there is my first post!
